Built from Trek’s 300 Series Alpha Aluminium, the frame is light, stiff and responsive, offering performance comparable to its carbon cousins. Utilising their progressive geometry, the Checkpoint places the rider in a comfortable yet efficient position, perfect for mile-munching. Paired with a carbon fork for enhanced compliance, the Checkpoint smooths out road buzz and takes the edge off lumps and bumps – ideal for winter riding in the UK! Mounting points throughout the frame accommodate racks, mudguards, bags and bottles, ready for taking your kit to work or stocking up for a weekend away.
Shimano’s 2x11-speed GRX groupset is excellent on all-terrain in all conditions thanks to the clutch-equipped rear derailleur, holding chain tension even on the rough stuff for flawless shifting. The wide range of gears suits steep inclines as well as straight-line speed between off-road sections. Fitted with Bontrager GR1 700x40c tyres, offering plenty of grip and cushion on the rough stuff without limiting speed on the tarmac – with space for up to 45c tyres, if you want to go bigger, you can!
