The Trek ALR 5 Driftless is a special edition Checkpoint, designed to be the ultimate gravel bike for all things adventure and off-road. This is no ordinary ALR 5 - complete with a custom-painted frame, a 1x drivetrain, dropper seatpost and even a new threaded bottom bracket, the Checkpoint ALR 5 Driftless is ready for whatever you can throw at it!
The Alpha Gold Aluminium frame is lightweight and fast, yet comfortable and robust, built around Trek’s nimble-yet-stable progressive geometry for excellent off-road handling and all-day comfort. Mounts for mudguards, racks, bags and bottles ensure the Checkpoint is ready for adventure, and an included special-edition frame bag means you’re ready to ride from the get-go. Fitted with an Easton dropper seatpost, the Checkpoint Driftless offers unrivalled confidence and control on fast and technical descents by allowing you to shift your centre of gravity.
Shimano’s 1x11-speed GRX drivetrain is the go-to for all things adventure, providing a suitably wide range of gears for undulating terrain with the simplicity and ease of use that a 1x setup offers. The ALR 5 Driftless comes fitted with 700x40mm Bontrager GR2 Team Issue tyres for the perfect balance of off-road grip and straight-line speed, but with clearance for up to 45mm rubber, there’s more than enough room to switch to something chunkier down the line. Paired with hydraulic disc brakes for consistent stopping power in all weather conditions, the Checkpoint ALR 5 Driftless could be the ultimate gravel bike.
