The Crankbrothers Mallet E is the high-performance enduro-specific version of the Mallet range, utilising a stiffer shank in the sole for long days on the trail.

The cleat pocket is designed to work exceptionally with the Crankbrothers pedal and cleat system – an area other brands sometimes fall short in – but they work perfectly with other two-bolt systems as well. The longer cleat pocket allows you to position the pedals further back for stability on long descents. The long-lasting outsole also provides excellent grip against the pedal body or even slippery roots should you have to jump off and hike a section!

While Crankbrothers are perhaps not the first brand that spring to mind when thinking of cycling shoes, they are part of the same group of brands as Fizik – which has a long history of high-end cycling shoes. The stiffened sole and lace retention system certainly borrows from their design expertise, making the Mallet E Lace a comfortable shoe with great power transfer to boot.

Sizing uses a USA last so select size based on UK normal shoe sizing. The range runs true to size so there's no need to size up. They're available in sizes 4 - 13 with half sizes availble from 5.5 - 11.5.
